Big Five versus HEXACO

The models overlap in places but their structure, items, and scoring are not interchangeable.

Key idea

The Big Five is a five-domain continuous trait framework. HEXACO is a separate six-factor model with its own instruments and interpretation.

Use with care

Do not combine a score from one model with items or descriptions from another. This service provides only the IPIP-based Big Five test.
